Heather McGee

Chief Executive Officer

Heather McGee is the Chief Executive Officer at 17 Asset Management, where she serves as a partner and oversees corporate strategy, daily operations, and consulting clients, as well as manages the firm's nonprofit institute and global fellowship program. Heather joined 17 AM in 2019 and, prior to her promotion to CEO in 2024, she served as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer.

Heather began her career in finance at Ramius Alternative Solutions, a global asset management firm with $4 billion in AUM. Following that, she worked at the Pershing Square Foundation, supporting a portfolio of $500 million in grants and program-related investments (PRIs). In her role before joining 17 AM, Heather supported the business development of Good Capital Project, a 2-year initiative by SOCAP Global that taught investors how to embed impact into their portfolios.

Heather holds a BS in Political Science from the University of Utah and an MPA in Social Impact, Innovation, and Investment from New York University Wagner, where her graduate thesis examined how investors measure and manage the impact of their portfolio companies across various asset classes.

Born and raised along the Wasatch Mountains in Utah, Heather now calls New York City home.
